Happy Birthday, Stuart!

Our oldest grandson loves Curious George. That was the theme of his birthday party this year, so I went on a search for a Curious George applique. This is what I came up with for our birthday boy. I also ordered the fabric for the two applique. I wanted everything to be "George" for him.

 Stuart is now in a toddler bed so I made him a special pillowcase. Isn't George just a happy little fellow?

 Of course, I couldn't leave little brother out so I made him a Curious George onesie.

I guess I need to start working on Easter for my little guys next. It comes early this year, but I'm ready for spring. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Roger

 This is Roger, our youngest grandson. Roger Cannon Edminson will arrive in this world on or before August 27. His big brother is Stuart.

 I made Stuart's diaper bag from an Amy Butler pattern and said that I would not make another one! Guess what? I did and this time it was so much easier. Susan picked out this fun fabric with cars.

 I used the blue to embroider his name and I wish I had outlined it with brown. Oh well, I don't think Roger will care.

 I lined the inside of the bag with brown fabric. This bag has all sorts of neat pockets and dividers. It also has outside pockets on each end of the bag.

 I made a burp cloth using the same fabric and some coordinating fabric.

Roger's mom has his bag all packed and ready to go. And yes, I will be happy to make another one if ever needed,

Birthday Gifts

Don't you just love pretty packages? I do. I have a friend whose birthday is today and I know she likes the colors pink and green together. That is why this gift is wrapped using those colors.



 I wanted to make her an apron. I looked for fabric with a french flair and found this one with Eiffel towers on it, My friend was a french teacher for many years and she loves anything french. Perfect fabric added to a black towel and white rick rack to enhance the waist made for a good combo.



I found the spreaders in early January and they were the real inspiration for the selection of fabric.
Isn't it fun giving gifts?

Placemats

 My oldest daughter, Katie, bought this cute fabric last summer. She brought it home Christmas and we couldn't decide what to make with it. It was a yard of each piece.

 I remembered seeing some placemats on someone's blog or either Pinterest and thought why not try that.

 You need one yard to make four napkins. The placemats call for a yard of fabric for the top and one yard for the lining. A total of three yards.....one yard of each fabric.

 The napkins looked good on the turquoise and khaki placemats. The options are limitless. She will be able to use different color plates as well.

I would like to see how pink or red plates look. Katie, I hope you enjoy your new placemats and napkins.
